I know not all people agree with me, so that’s why I suggest making this a DLC rather than a patch. Like I said before, the lack of traffic management features is what frustrates me most about the Xbox version of this otherwise awesome game. I can definitely see the benefit of doing this, and I think it could be a lot of fun to tinker around with timing to help increase traffic flow. You would also be able to play with left turn arrows and pedestrian crossing signs. With this feature, you would be able to set the exact length of time light cycles take to ensure traffic moves efficiently. One feature I always found interesting from TM:PE but never actually used myself was the ability to change traffic light timing at intersections. This would help optimize routing by increasing or decreasing speed limits to influence whether or not cars will use a particular road. With this feature, you would be able to manually set speed limits for each road type or individual road. For parking restrictions, you would be able to choose a road and toggle street parking on and off. For example, you would be able to ban trucks from certain roads in order to force them onto a preferred route, though cars would still be able to use this road. This feature would allow you to restrict or allow certain vehicles from using certain sections of roads. While this wouldn’t be a perfect fix, I think it would help intersections run much more smoothly. This feature would be a must for me - one of the things about CS that frustrates me more than anything else is the driving AI, especially at intersections. With this feature, you would be able to designate lanes as turning only, straight only, or turning and straight, and you could assign the lane cars will continue into across an intersection. I think the feature I like the most in TM:PE is the ability to connect lanes across intersections. With that being said, I could see this option being difficult to build while minimizing bugs, so while it would be awesome to have, I don’t think it would be necessary to make this DLC worthwhile. I think this would give players much more control over their road choices. I’d like the ability to choose number of lanes in each direction, designation of those lanes (highway vs non-highway), and some basic scenery items (grass/trees in the median). I think this feature would probably be found on the main menu rather than in game, so roads could be saved and used across scenarios. Roads with central turning lanes could be beneficial as well.Īnother cool feature would be the ability to design our own road sections. Some larger 1 way roads and roads with unequal numbers of lanes would be nice to have. One of the things I would like to see most in this DLC would be a pack of new road designs.

Overall, I really enjoy CS on the Xbox, and don’t plan on buying or building a PC anytime soon. Before, I was playing on a laptop that was absolutely not meant to run the game, but I was able to load up TM:PE on very low settings as long as my cities did not get too big. Some ideas for what could be included in the DLC can be found below.Ī little background - I’ve been playing CS on the Xbox One for almost a year. I think that a console-only DLC that included many features found in TM:PE could make the traffic management part of CS much smoother and more satisfying.

As we all know, these mods are not available to us stuck on consoles. On the PC, this has been remedied through mods such as Traffic Manager: Presidential Edition. One of the biggest frustrations I have with CS on the Xbox One is the lack of control over traffic.
TLDR: Make the best features of TM:PE into a DLC for console.
